Cape May Stage entertains
the whole family July 4 weekend

Cape May Stage presents two original, fast-paced shows for all ages throughout the July 4 holiday weekend: “Go North Penguin,” a new musical by Pupphitz Puppets, and “7 (X1) Samurai,” Looney Tunes meets 17th century Japan.
“Go North Penguin” is a show for families by puppeteer Scott Hitz and Company. In the spirit of Jim Henson, this action-packed, large-scale puppet presentation combines puppetry, lovable characters and great music. Show is 11 a.m. Sunday, July 5 at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse at Bank and Lafayette streets in Cape May. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for kids/students.
David Gaines’ “7 (X1) Samurai,” is best described as a live-action version of an animated cartoon re-enactment of the classic 1954 film “The Seven Samurai” in which Gaines brings the art of mime to a new level. Performances are 7 p.m. Monday, July 6 and 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7 at the Robert Shackleton Playhouse. Tickets are $20 for adults, half price for children and students.
