Josh Blue of ‘Last Comic Standing’
highlights Stockton’s Disability Awareness Week activities
Josh Blue, winner of the NBC reality show “Last Comic Standing,” will entertain at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey at a Disability Awareness Week event.
Blue, a standout soccer player for the 2004 United States’ Paralympics Team and a talented sculptor and artist, has cerebral palsy. He will perform 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22 at the Stockton Performing Arts Center. Many of his jokes center on how he deals with his disability and how other people view him.

Proceeds benefit Fisher House, which is dedicated to serving military and veterans’ families in times of need, and the South Jersey Field of Dreams.
The Fisher House Foundation (www.fisherhouse.org) donates “comfort homes” so that America’s military families can be together during extended treatment for serious injury or lengthy physical/occupational therapy.
Stockton will also host a free movie night for students featuring “Murderball” 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 in Arts and Science A-102 on the Galloway Township campus. The award-winning documentary focuses on athletes with disabilities and provides an intimate look into the lives of the members of the U.S. quadriplegic rugby team and seeks to promote awareness of and dispel stereotypes about people with disabilities. Join the Irish revelry at Smithville
Come join the merriment of the Historic Smithville Irish Festival in Galloway Township 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. Rain date Sunday, Oct. 14. Admission is free.
